Lafayette Tops Navy In OT Thriller

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - Andrew Brown hit a 3-pointer with 47.5 seconds left in overtime as Lafayette took a 103-99 overtime win Saturday over Navy.
The victory marked an NCAA record-tying sixth overtime win for the Leopards (3-0, 12-6) who held on to a tie for first in the Patriot League. The Leopards have won an NCAA record five overtime games on the road.
Navy (1-3, 8-10) led 60-45 with 13:06 left before the Leopards went on a 30-14 run to go ahead 75-74 with 3:24 to play.
The Mids rallied and led 85-82 before Bial Abdullah tied the game with 18.5 seconds to play in regulation with a rebound off a missed 3-pointer and a free throw as he was fouled.
In overtime, the teams traded the lead until Brown's basket put the Leopards up for good. Navy battled back to within one point several times, but Michael Gruner's free throws with six seconds left gave the Leopards a four-point lead.
The game marked the first time since Jan. 22, 1992 that a team had scored 100 points against the Midshipmen.
Abdullah led Lafayette with 34 points and Brown added 18 points.
Greg Sprink scored 33 points and added 12 rebounds and Chris Harris had 26 points and six assists for Navy.
