EASTON, Pa. - This past weekend, the Lafayette baseball team and members of its coaching staff participated in a 5k race as part of a fundraiser for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA).

The race was held in Doylestown, Pa. and sophomore RHP Cory Sperra finished third overall among the participants. The team set a $2,000 fundraising goal for the event, but raised a total of $3,155 thanks to the generous donations of everyone involved.

Many people are affected by Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's disease, including friends and family of the Lafayette baseball team, and the team felt the race was a tremendous opportunity to raise money for a great foundation.

The team would like to extend a special thank you to Andrew Ruck and Mike Massa for facilitating its participation in the race.
