Santomauro and Leeds Summer League Update

EASTON, Pa. – A pair of Lafayette baseball players, Andrew Santomauro and Mitch Leeds, have excelled on the diamond during the summer months away from College Hill. Santomauro is playing for the Plymouth Pilgrims, while Leeds has been taking the mound for the DC Grays.
Santomauro’s squad plays in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, where he recently started in centerfield for the East Team in the NECBL All-Star Game. The rising senior leads the NECBL in hits with 46, is second with 18 stolen bases (18-for-22) and ranks in the top-15 in batting average (.315), runs scored (21) and doubles (9).

Coming off an impressive rookie season at Lafayette, Leeds has continued to pitch well for the DC Grays of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League. The right-hander is tied for the league lead with five wins and has a 5-1 record through seven starts. Leeds, a South Division All-Star, has struck out 31 batters and walked 13 in 39.2 innings and owns a 3.86 ERA. The team has a 22-18 record and has hit a hot-streak as of late, winning five consecutive games and is 8-2 in its last 10 contests.
