EASTON, Pa. - Senior Chris Boyce has earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted upon by the league's sports information directors and announced by the league office this afternoon. Boyce is currently 2-0 with a 3.09 earned run average for the Lafayette baseball team while posting a 3.37 cumulative grade-point average as a Mechanical Engineering major.

To be considered for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must own a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher while contributing on the field as a starter or key reserve.

Boyce, a right-handed pitcher, leads all Patriot League pitchers with 26 appearances out of the bullpen. The native of Bath, Pa. earned the first two decisions of his career this season with relief victories against Fairleigh Dickinson and Holy Cross. Boyce also notched his first collegiate save after two hitless and scoreless innings of work at LIU Brooklyn on April 25.

Boyce was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll in 2010.

The No. 4-seeded Leopards will begin the Patriot League Tournament on Saturday, May 12 with a doubleheader at top-seed Army. If necessary, game three of the best-of-three semifinal series will be played on Sunday, May 13.
