Lafayette makes the short trip to Bethlehem for a four-game series this weekend against Lehigh. The Leopards have dropped five of their last six and are 4-10 in league play. The Mountain Hawks won two in a row after dropping their previous five contests and are 20-19 overall and 7-8 against Patriot League competition.

The forecast for Bethlehem on Saturday calls for partly cloudy conditions and a high 68 degrees. Sunday is expected to be 58 degrees and partly cloudy in the afternoon.

The Mountain Hawks boast the highest batting average in the Patriot League, hitting .274 collectively. Mike Garzillo ranks fifth in the League, batting at a .319 clip through 38 games. He has recorded a team-leading 46 hits, 10 doubles, three triples, 16 walks and 26 RBI. Justin Paccioli is Lehigh's best hitter in terms of average, hitting at a .341 clip. On the mound, Colin Gotzon is 3-1 with a 3.79 earned-run-average in eight starts and has racked up 41 strikeouts in 40.1 innings pitched. Kevin Long has a team-low 3.10 ERA amongst starters and is 4-2. Joey McNamara has pitched to a 2.73 ERA in 11 games out of the bullpen and has picked up two victories for the Mountain Hawks.

The Leopards lead the all-time series of the historic rivalry 192-142-3 dating back to 1869. The two programs split the season series last year.

Alex Woinski has collected 20 base hits in 24 games played and has posted a .299 batting average. Nine of his hits have gone for extra bases (eight doubles, one home run). The freshman is tied for the team lead with Andrew Santomauro with 16 runs batted in. Santomauro has collected 35 base knocks including eight doubles and two big flys. He ranks second on the team with a .276 average and has also scored 23 runs and swiped 11 bags.

Connor Ortolf and Trevor Houck sport sub-three earned-run averages for Lafayette. Ortolf has pitched to a 2.72 ERA in a team-leading 56.1 innings pitched. Houck is 1-1 with a 2.78 ERA in nine games including three starts. The rookie allowed just two runs in 6.2 innings of work his last time out, earning his first collegiate victory. Freshman David Bednar is holding opposing batters to a .171 average in 34 innings. Cory Spera has been solid out of the bullpen, winning three games with a team-low 1.31 ERA in 20.2 innings on the season.

Bucknell and Army have already clinched a berth in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament leaving the remaining two spots up for grabs. Lehigh and Navy need just two wins each to claim the final two bids. Lafayette remains in contention for one of the two final spots in the tournament.

The Leopards will travel to Lawrenceville, N.J. on Wednesday to face Rider at 3:30 p.m. The Maroon and White return home to close out the regular season with a three-game series against North Carolina Central next weekend.
