Game Preview
Lafayette plays a weekend series with Penn with Saturday’s games being played on College Hill, followed by Sunday’s games in Philadelphia. The Leopards come into the weekend 2-14 overall after dropping a three-game weekend series with North Florida and a midweek loss at Wagner.

Last Time Out
The Leopards traveled to Staten Island, N.Y. and were downed, 6-0 by Wagner. Senior Thomas Dunleavy and junior Andrew Santomauro led Lafayette with two hits apiece.

Penn Preview
The Quakers enter the weekend series at 9-6 overall with wins over William & Mary, Duke, Winthrop, Towson and George Washington. Senior Ryan Deitrich leads the Quakers with 24 hits and a .421 batting average. Freshman Michael Vilardo has a team-high 15 runs batted in and seven doubles. Sophomore Mitch Montaldo is batting .327 with a team-high 13 runs scored. Sophomore Joey Greco leads the Quakers with two home runs and is second on the team with 12 RBI.

All-Time Series
The Quakers hold a 54-47 advantage in a series that dates back to 1873. Penn won twice in three meetings last season.

The forecast for this weekend will be mostly sunny Saturday on College Hill with a high of 45 degrees, while Sunday will be cloudy in Philadelphia with a high of 48 degrees and a 20 percent chance of rain.

League Honors
Lafayette senior second baseman Kevin Casey was honorable mention in Patriot League Player of the Week voting this past week. The senior had five hits in 14 at bats last week, scoring a team-high seven runs. Casey had two doubles and two runs batted in to go along with six walks, leading the Leopards to their first two wins of the season. The senior leads the team in runs scored (13) and is tied for the team lead with 17 hits and one home run.

On Deck
The Leopards will host Seton Hall on March 26 and Penn in the Liberty Bell Classic on March 27 with first pitch for both games set for 3:30 p.m.

Preseason Recognition
The Leopards were picked to finish fifth in the Patriot League Preseason Poll, after going 14-37-1 a season ago. Lafayette senior co-captain Kevin Casey garnered Preseason All-Patriot League honors at second base on the League’s inaugural preseason team. Casey hit .330 last season with 17 RBI.
