WEEKEND PREVIEW
The Leopards travel to Arlington, Va. to take on the Colonials of George Washington University in a three-game series. Saturday is a double header with game one scheduled for noon. Sunday's single game is slated for a noon first pitch.

WEATHER FORECAST
Saturday’s forecast shows a high of 49 degrees with a 30 percent chance of rain. Sunday should be a nice day for baseball with a high of 53 degrees and no chance of rain.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
The Colonials come into the series at 1-4 following a 7-5 loss to Delaware State on Thursday. Owen Beightol’s .450 batting average on 9-for-20 from the dish leads the team. He has GW's lone home run to accompany one double and two walks. Bobby Campbell is hitting .353 in 17 at-bats this season while knocking in three runs. Ryan Xepoleas has a team high four RBI. Aaron Weisberg worked seven innings in his first start this season allowing three runs on five hits and two walks while fanning six. Game Two starter Jacob Williams lasted 4.1 innings, surrendering five runs (four earned) on six hits and four walks with one strikeout in his season debut. Luke Staub throw four innings in his season debut allowing one run on four hits with one strikeout and a walk. Colin Milon has pitched five innings in relief for George Washington, allowing three runs (one earned) while walking one and striking out three.

WHAT A RELIEF:
The Maroon and White saw its bullpen depth come to life in their season opening series at VMI. Ari Kaufman saw 3.1 innings of work, giving up just one hit to the 10 batters he faced. Trevor Houck was perfect in his 2.2 innings on the mound, fanning two of the seven batters he faced. Junior captain Cory Spera also went perfect over the weekend, including one strikeout in two innings of work.

CAPTAINS
Center fielder Andrew Santomauro, pitcher Connor Ortolf, and pitcher Cory Spera were tabbed as this season's team captains. Santomauro started all 49 outings for the Leopards last season batting .258 with 11 doubles and five triples. Defensively he recorded 133 put outs with a .978 fielding percentage. Ortolf was 1-5 in 10 starts last season. He was responsible for 35 runs over 55.0 innings, a 5.73 ERA, with 25 strikeouts and 28 walks. Spera made 14 appearances in relief last season registering 15 earned runs, 12 strikeouts, and seven walks over 22.1 innings pitched.

ON DECK
Lafayette’s game at Rider on March 4 has been postponed. They are next scheduled for action on March 8 to finish off the season opening road swing at Fairleigh Dickinson.
