Leopards travel to VMI for three games this weekend

Former All-Patriot League selection Ian Law '06 is in his second season on Coach Kinney's staff.

Most recently, Law served as an assistant coach at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pa. for two seasons. Law coached with former Lafayette assistant and current Moravian head coach Paul Engelhardt. In 2010, Moravian advanced to the NCAA Tournament, the first appearance in program history, and the program's coaching staff was named the Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year after a 26-15 mark.

Law was a four-year member of the Lafayette baseball program (2002-06) he accumulated some impressive career numbers. He hit for a .333 career average and ranks fifth in career doubles (36), eighth in hits (178), eighth in total bases (254), 11th in runs scored (122), and 16th in games played (254).

Law garnered All-Patriot League First-Team honors at shortstop in 2006 after hitting at a .340 clip over 50 games. He scored 54 runs and drove in 32 to go along with 15 doubles on his way to team MVP honors. In his junior season of 2005, Law managed a career-best .369 average while driving in 32 and connecting for 14 doubles. He collected All-Patriot League Second-Team laurels, team MVP honors and was named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-East Region Team.

After graduating with a degree in Economics and Business in 2006, Law played professional baseball with the Atlantic City Surf near his hometown of Linwood, N.J. Law joined the college coaching ranks in August 2008 at Moravian where he is finishing his Master's degree in business administration. In the summer of 2009, Law also coached the Covington (Va.) Lumberjacks of the Valley Baseball League, an NCAA-sanctioned wood bat league.
