Fresh off a sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson, a pair of Lafayette pitchers claimed weekly awards from the Patriot League for their efforts. Senior Connor Ortolf was named the Pitcher of the Week, while freshman David Bednar was recognized as the conference's Rookie of the Week.

The Lafayette baseball team rode a six-run fourth inning to a 6-2 victory and a series sweep over Fairleigh Dickinson in game two of Sunday's doubleheader at Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. The win was Lafayette's fourth straight and improved its record to 5-4 on the season.

Back-to-back doubles by Andrew Santomauro and Parker Hills broke a 4-4 tie in the sixth inning and gave Lafayette the lead for good as it scored 11 unanswered runs to secure a 11-4 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson in game one of Sunday's doubleheader.

Backed by Connor Ortolf's gem, the Lafayette baseball team shut down Fairleigh Dickinson 8-0 on Saturday afternoon at Naimoli Family Baseball Complex. Ortolf surrendered one hit over eight innings, while the offense pounded out 12 hits.

Sunday's baseball game against Fairleigh Dickinson originally scheduled for Kamine Stadium has been moved to FDU's Naimoli Baseball Complex in Teaneck, N.J. The contest will be played as part of a doubleheader against the Knights starting at 1 p.m. Saturday's doubleheader has been changed to a single game.
