Rose Willey Selected to Academic All-Patriot League Team

Willey is a Mathematics-Economics major

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette cross country runner Rose Willey has been chosen to the Academic All-Patriot League team, as announced recently by the League office. 

To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key player in her sport. The team is voted on by the League's cross country sports information contact for women's cross country.

Willey, a sophomore, has a cumulative GPA of 4.0 as a Mathematics-Economics major. The Brookfield, Conn. native was a 2010 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection in addition to being named Rookie of the Week last season. This year, Willey has continued her excellence in the classroom as well as contributing on the course. She crossed the line at the Patriot League Championships in 24:14.9, finishing in 53rd place, while taking 12th at the Leopard Invitational.

The Leopards will compete in the NCAA District Championships this weekend hosted by Maryland-Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md.
