Cross Country/Track & Field
Class: 2014
Major: Mathematics – Economics

I. Academics

What do you enjoy about your major?
I am double majoring in Mathematics and Economics so it’s interesting to see how the two subjects are interrelated.  I also feel like the faculty at Lafayette really cares about your success as a student so even though the work I have is challenging, I know that I have great resources to help me do well.

One class/professor that every Lafayette student should try to take is…:
Art History.  I took the second semester class with Professor Mattison.  As a math major I wouldn’t call art and history two of my strengths, but the class taught me to appreciate art and I ended up really enjoying it.

What was your most unique academic experience (class/project/internship) at Lafayette?
I actually just signed up to go on an interim trip to Turkey in January, so I’m really excited for that.  I’ve never been to the Middle East before and that will definitely be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Do you have any post-graduation plans?
Not at the moment.  I don’t know if I want to go to grad school right after Lafayette yet so I’m keeping my options open.

II. Athletics

What goals have the cross country team set for this season?
Work to be performing our best at the Patriot League and the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships and trying to stay as injury-free as possible.  Even though we have only had three meets so far this season, everyone has already improved greatly and is on track to keep improving.

What is the typical conditioning program for a Lafayette cross country runner?

We usually have either two workouts a week or one workout and a meet.  The other days consist of recovery runs, distance runs, or a long run.

III. Personal

What reality show would you have the best chance of winning?
The Amazing Race.  It looks like a ton of fun and I’m good with directions and up for an adventure.

What song/band/album is most likely to be playing on your iPod?
Probably Ke$ha.

What movie can you quote word-for-word?
Either 27 Dresses or Blades of Glory.  I’ve seen both so many times.

Who is most famous person you have ever met?
I met Joe Biden when he came to Lafayette last year.  I also met Chistopher Meloni, who used to be a lead actor on my favorite show, Law and Order: SVU.
