Leopard runners eye Aug. 31 meet at Lehigh

EASTON, Pa. - Lafayette cross country returned to campus Monday for two-a-day preseason workouts. The Leopards open the cross country season with three straight meets in Bethlehem, Pa. starting Aug. 31 at the Lehigh Invitational at 5:30 p.m.

The Leopard women will be led by junior Rose Willey, who finished 111th in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional last season with a time of 24:34.3, and sophomore Grace Watters, who crossed the line in 181st position.

Senior William Volkmann will look to fill the shoes of graduated captain Josh Sadlock on the men's side. Volkmann ran a time of 33:08.2 at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, earning him 101st.
