Cross Country Garners All-Academic Honors

Men and women earn Academic awards for second consecutive year

EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's and women’s cross country teams earned 2012 All-Academic Status, announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association on Monday.

Lafayette’s men combined for a 3.18 cumulative grade-point average, while the women posted a 3.23 GPA. The Leopards were one of 145 men’s teams and 200 women’s teams earning All-Academic Status.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team honors, the squad must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.

Lafayette men’s cross country joined American, Army, Bucknell, Colgate, Lehigh and Navy, while the Leopard women were accompanied by Army, Bucknell, Colgate, Lehigh and Navy from the Patriot League.
