Men's Cross Country Earns All-Academic Award

EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's cross country team earned 2011 All-Academic Status, announced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. Lafayette combined for a 3.34 cumulative grade-point average and posted the highest GPA of the four Patriot League schools on the list.

Lafayette finished ahead of Lehigh, Army and Navy among the honored teams. To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.

Of the 147 institutions represented, Chattanooga reported the nation's highest overall team GPA, with an average of 3.81.
