BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Sarah Welsh-Huggins placed fourth at the Patriot League Cross Country Championships in snowy and muddy conditions on Saturday. The men's and women's races were held at Lehigh's Goodman Campus, with each team placing seventh.
Welsh-Huggins' fourth place finish earned her First-Team All-Patriot League honors. She is the first Lafayette women's runner to have the distinction since Rian Landers accomplished the feat in 2002.
Navy's Jess Palacio won the individual title with a time of 21:56 in the women's 6k race, helping Navy score 53 points, three points ahead of second-place Bucknell.
On the men's side, Colgate's Chris Johnson finished with a time of 24:53.9 to take the individual title, winning by almost 20 seconds.
Navy finished with 38 points to claim the men's team title, beating out American, which placed second.
Lafayette returns to action on Nov. 12 at the NCAA District Championships.
