Cross Country Competes in the Patriot League Championships

HAMILTON, N.Y. - Two weeks removed from the Leopard Invitational, the Lafayette Cross Country team competed in the Patriot League Championships Saturday afternoon in Hamilton, N.Y.

Junior co-captain Rose Willey led the squad with a ninth-place finish, earning Second Team All-Patriot League honors. Additionally on the women's side, freshman Katherine Culver crossed the line in 27th with a time of 24:01.4 and sophomore Grace Watters took 45th with a time of 24:41.6. Senior co-captain Julissa Muschlitz took 60th, while junior Elizabeth Troisi, sophomore Simran Bains and freshman Zoe Nagasing rounded out the field in 65th, 69th, and 70th.

On the men's side, senior co-captain William Volkmann crossed the line at 27:52.2, good enough for 60th, to lead the squad. Freshman Thomas Day was right behind in 62nd and sophomores Andrew Haff and Andrew Warshauer finished 65th and 67th. Rounding out the men were senior co-captain Dayne Mosconi and junior Sam Brinton, taking the 75th and 76th spots.

The women took sixth as a team, while the men held the eighth position on the afternoon. Next up for the team is the NCAA District Championships in State College, Pa. on Friday.
