Senior Alex Wechsler ran the 8K course at Lafayette's Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex in 25:52.3 to finish seventh at the 2007 Patriot League Cross Country Championships on Saturday. He was named to the first team All-Patriot League.

Rainy weather made for a muddy course at Metzgar Fields, where the championships were held. American claimed its sixth straight league championship, while the women from Bucknell and Navy tied for first place in the team results. Bucknell had previously won back-to-back championships. Lafayette finished seventh in the men's and eighth in the women's races.

Sophomore Rose Kennedy paced the Leopards on the women's side, finishing 43rd with a time of 23:06. This is the fourth time this season that Kennedy has finished first among Lafayette women.

Patriot League Rookies of the Meet were Andrew Hanko from Navy who finished 16th and Stacey Marion from Colgate who won the women's 6K race. American's Matt Centrowitz and Karen Boyle of Navy were named the Men's and Women's Patriot League Coaches of the Year.

The Leopards will return to action on Nov. 10 when they travel to Lehigh University for the NCAA District Championships.
