Leopard Invitational Men's Results Get Acrobat Reader

EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette cross country team hosted the Leopard Invitational on Saturday morning at the Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex. The women's team finished second and was led by Sarah Welsh-Huggins' third place showing, while the men's team finished in sixth place.

"I'm very happy with how both teams performed today," head coach Julio Piazza said. "Sarah Welsh-Huggins, Rose Willey and Erin Mee all had lifetime bests on our course and our top three men ran extremely well."

Welsh-Huggins posted a time of 21:47.3, followed by Willey, who crossed the line in 12th place with her time of 22:28.4. Senior Lauren Kelly clocked in at 22:49.1, good enough for 21st overall and she was followed by Erika Stasakova in 29th place. A pair of freshman, Simran Bains and Grace Watters finished 36th and 37th, registering times of 23:20.5 and 23:22.5, respectively. Mee's career best mark at home of 23:39.1 earned her 46th in the race.

On the men's side, Zach Lizmi paced the Leopards, crossing the line in 27:02.7 for 14th overall. William Volkmann was the next Lafayette runner to complete the race, clocking in 27:08.4. In 31st was Josh Sadlock, posting a time of 27:32.5, while Sam Brinton came across the line in 58th position. Dayne Mosconi (64th), Derrick Hargwood (76th) and Chris Parker (89th) closed out the race for Lafayette.

The Leopards return to the course on Oct. 29th for the Patriot League Championships in Bethlehem, Pa.
