Lafayette Cross Country Hosts Leopard Invitational

EASTON, Pa.
– The Lafayette cross country team competed in the Leopard Invitational Saturday morning, taking sixth and seventh places for the men and women, respectively.

Senior William Volkmann finished inside the top 10 with a ninth-place time of 25:36.48. Sophomores Andrew Haff and Andrew Warshauer took the 31st and 36th positions with times of 26:33.89 and 26:41.76. Thomas Day rounded out the top-50 finishes for the men, crossing the line at 26:45.03, good enough for 39th in the 115-runner field.

Junior captain Rose Willey led the women’s side with a 14th place time of 22:01.6. Freshman Katherine Culver was just 12 spots behind Willey in 26th with a time of 22:31.1. Sophomore Grace Watters added a third to the top-50 field for Lafayette, taking the 40th position, crossing the line at 22:53.92.

Next up for Lafayette is the Patriot League Championships in Hamilton, N.Y. on Oct. 27 at 11 a.m.
