Bethlehem, Pa. – The Lafayette men’s and women’s cross country competed in the 40th annual Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University this morning. Rose Willey led the way for the Leopards, finishing sixth overall in a field of 365 runners in the women’s race. The women finished 13th out of 45, while the men finished 39th out of 46.
Willey completed the course in 21:55, while freshman Brigid McGill finished 62nd overall with a time of 23:13. Grace Watters and Elizabeth Troisi rounded out the Leopards in the top 100 finishing in 23:33 and 23:36 respectively.
On the men’s side, sophomore Thomas Day led the Leopards, finishing in 52nd with a time of 26:30. Junior Andrew Warshauer was the second Lafayette runner to cross the line, as he finished in 27:22
The Leopards will host the Leopard Invitational on October 19, followed by the Patriot League Championships on November 2, at Metzgar Fields.
