Cross Country Competes at Paul Short Run
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lafayette men’s and women’s cross country teams competed in the 43rd annual Paul Short Run at the Goodman Cross Country Course. on Saturday morning, that featured around six thousand total runners from nearly 400 colleges and high schools.
The women had a strong showing in the Women’s Brown 6K and placed 24th out of the 42 competing schools. Two Lafayette runners placed in the top 100 out of the 373 total runners in the race.
Sophomore Emily Moore set the tone with a team-best time of 22:16 and a 56th place finish. Fellow sophomore Caroline Harmon was the second Lafayette female runner to cross the finish line with her time of 22:31.
The men, in the Men’s Brown 8K that featured 401 runners, were led by sophomore David Sadvary, who posted a total time of 26:58 which was good for 249th. Freshman Nate Becker followed up Sadvary with a 322nd place finish and a time of 27:35. Just a few spots behind Becker was senior Noah Krassin (27:47).
The Leopards will be running again on Saturday, Oct. 15 in the Leopard Invitational at 10 a.m. It is the last race before the Patriot League Championship.
