Leopards downed by Lehigh at Dual Meet
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - This year's rendition of the annual dual meet with Lehigh ended with the Mountain Hawks winning both the men's and women's races this past Friday.
The men's 8K race saw the Mountain Hawks defeat the Leopards by a score of 16-47. Lehigh posted nine of the top 10 ten times, while senior Kelvin Serem paced the Leopards with a a time of 26:19.5, which was good for a fifth place finish.
David Sadavary finished 13th with a time of 26:50.14 and Mark DiPaolo rounded out the top-15 with a time of 26:53.66.
On the women's side Lehigh defeated the Leopards by a score of 15-50. Lehigh claimed the first seven spots, as Maura Henderson led the field with a time of 21:35.05.
Caroline Harmon crossed the finish line first for the Leopards, finishing the course in 22:57.16, which was good for eighth place. Emily Moore finished right behind Harmon, finishing in ninth with a time of 23:03.05.
Gabi Galleta (23:06.57), Alexa Kwapinski (23:14.62), Margaret Schiazza (23:34.08), Jennifer Salvatore (23:43.79), and Mikayla Pacilio (23:48.86) buttoned up the back end of the top 15 with their respective times.
The Leopards next competition takes them back to New Jersey for the Monmouth Invitational next Saturday, Sept. 16. The event is scheduled for a 9:45 a.m. start.
