Leopards Kick-Off Season With Top-Three Finishes

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette men's and women's cross country teams opened their seasons with top-three finishes at the Lehigh Valley Championships on Goodman Course, located on the campus of Lehigh University. The men finished second overall, while the women placed third.
Junior Edward Dutch set the pace for the men, finishing fourth overall with a time of 26:18.00. Rookie Travis Wolfe and senior Nicholas Birosik took ninth (26:53.30) and eleventh (26:59.70), respectively.
On the women's side, junior Lindsay Bryant was the Leopards' top runner as she came in fourth with a time of 23:17. Sophomore Frances Morro also started her season off with a top-ten finish, taking ninth at 24:21.
Lehigh swept the championships, turning in the top three runners on both sides.
Lafayette returns to action as it hosts archrival Lehigh Saturday, Sept. 17 beginning at 9:30 p.m.
