What do you enjoy about your major?
I enjoy learning about the real world applications in my math courses, especially those that relate to business. The classes in my major help develop critical thinking and analytical skills which are extremely important in today's globalized world.
One class/professor that every Lafayette student should try to take is…:
Professor Niles of the anthropology and sociology department teaches a great class on the history of the Inca. She is extremely knowledgeable on the subject, and integrates her personal experiences abroad into the class.
What was your most unique academic experience (class/project/internship) at Lafayette?
My first year seminar class was on the history of baseball. As a semester long project each student drafted a fantasy baseball team, and a computer simulation program was used to play games. It was definitely a unique experience and something I never thought I would do for a class assignment.
Do you have any post-graduation plans?
I wish! I am currently searching for a job for next year.
What goals have the cross country team set for this season?
We feel like we have a really strong team this year and we are anxious to race in the bigger meets on our schedule. Our team goal is to improve on last year’s finish at the Patriot League Championships, but individually we are all striving to set personal bests for 8 kilometers.
What is the typical conditioning program for a Lafayette cross country runner?
It really varies from runner to runner and depends a lot on previous training. For the most part, runners on the team will run between 60 to 100 miles a week during the base training period of our season. We generally have two hard workouts a week and a long run every Sunday.
What reality show would you have the best chance of winning?
The Real World on MTV. I think I should audition for the show after I graduate.
What song/band/album is most likely to be playing on your iPod?
MGMT, Ra Ra Riot, Shout Out Louds
What movie can you quote word-for-word?
I am a big movie fan so I could probably quote a handful of movies. If I had to pick one I would say Step Brothers.
Who is most famous person you have ever met?
I can’t say I have met many famous people. I would have to say Patrick Roy, the hall of fame NHL goalie. I met him briefly and got his autograph after one of my hockey games when I was young.
