Lafayette Women's Track and Field Earns All-Academic Team Status
Sept. 16, 2004 EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette women's track and field team has been granted All-Academic Team status by the National Collegiate Division I of the U.S. Track and Field Coaches' Association. The criteria for the award is a team cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. "This is quite an honor at a school as demanding as Lafayette, and competing in a league as strong as the Patriot League," head track and field coach Julio Piazza said. "Our student-athletes have achieved this recognition as a team, and it's a tribute to the commitment that these young women have made both academically and athletically." Fifty-two Division I women's track and field teams were honored with All-Academic Team status. Lafayette was the only Patriot League institution awarded with such a distinction.
