Ashley Harbin Set to Compete at U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials

EUGENE, Ore. -
Former Lafayette women's track & field standout Ashley Harbin '08 will compete in the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Ore. On Thursday, Harbin will participate in the hammer throw, beginning at 11:15 a.m. PT.
Last year, Harbin took part in the USA Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of Oregon.
The top three men's and women's hammer throwers will be awarded their official 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials medal in Eugene, Ore. during the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Opening Ceremonies at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 22.
At the Tucson Elite Throws Classic on May 20, Harbin threw a 211" 8', good for sixth in Group A. She finished eighth in the finals with a toss of 210" 09'.
At Lafayette, Harbin was a four-time NCAA Division I Championships qualifier and won three Patriot League titles. She currently holds the school records in the hammer throw and the 20lb. weight throw. In 2008, she also competed in the hammer throw qualifier at the Olympic Trials.
Harbin completed her Master's Degree in Sports Administration at Temple University in 2010. She now works full time as a sales representative for New York Sports Clubs.
