EASTON, Pa. – Senior Nick Orzol of the Lafayette track and field team was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, it was announced Thursday. Orzol finished his Lafayette career with an overall grade-point average of 3.94 as an Electrical and Chemical Engineering major.

“This is a tremendous honor for Nick. His diligent work in both the classroom and on the track have led to great success for him,” head coach Michele Curcio said. “A captain as a senior, Nick leaves Lafayette as one of our Top 10 Triple Jumpers of All Time and will begin his job with IBM in June.”

Orzol finished 7th at the Patriot League Championships in the triple jump and won the event at the Lafayette/Lehigh Dual Meet. He posted fourth- and fifth-place finishes at the Greyhound Invitational in the 110m hurdles and the triple jump, respectively, and a sixth-place mark at the Coach P Invitational.

The Mercerville, N.J. native also placed second in the triple jump at the Tribe Open earlier this season. He finishes his career on College Hill in ninth on the Lafayette all-time list with a 46’ 11” personal best in the triple jump.
