Junior Nick Orzol and senior Erika Stasakova have earned spots on the Academic All-Patriot League team, as voted upon by the league's sports information directors and announced by the league office on Friday.
To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport.
Orzol, an Electrical and Computer Engineering major, owns a 3.95 GPA and has been selected to his first Academic All-Patriot League Team. The Mercerville, N.J. native is a two-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member. Athletically, he finished fifth in the triple jump at the Patriot League Championships with a leap of 45’ 2 ¼” and took second in the same event at the Lafayette 7-way meet with a distance of 44’ 10 ¼”.
Stasakova is an International Affairs and Spanish double major from Bel Air, Md. and boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.78. She earned the Frank Kline Baker Spanish & Latin American Civilization award as one of four Lafayette students who attained the greatest proficiency in the study of Spanish and Latin American civilization. A three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll member, Stasakova won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Patriot League Championships and was a First Team honoree last weekend. Stasakova also holds the school record in this event.
Stasakova will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the ECAC Championships being held at Princeton on Friday evening.
