Pena Picks Up Second Weekly League Award

EASTON, Pa. - Junior Rachel Pena of the Lafayette track and field team picked up her second Patriot League Female Field Athlete of the Week honor of the season, the League announced Monday.

Pena played a key role in Lafayette's narrow 102-101 victory over archrival Lehigh on Saturday. She placed first in the hammer throw with a personal-best mark of 188' 8". Her throw also set the ECAC-qualifying standard and is the best toss in the Patriot League this season.

Additionally in the shot put, Pena finished on top of the board with an outdoor personal best throw of 42' 7" and in the discus, she took third with a heave of 117' 3".

Next up for the Maroon and White is a trip to Bethlehem, Pa. to compete in the Moravian College Coach P Open on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
