EASTON, Pa. - Senior Michael Thompson was named to the Men's Indoor Track & Field Academic All-Patriot League Team, announced by the League on Tuesday.

To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.

Thompson, a pole-vaulter and two-year captain from Shokan, N.Y., owns a 3.92 cumulative GPA as a Civil Engineering major. Thompson achieved the highest GPA of the field, narrowly beating out Daniel Markwalter of Bucknell, who recorded a 3.91 overall mark.

The 2011 Lafayette Maroon Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Thompson has been named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll three times during his time on College Hill.
