Jones, Ekema-Agbaw and Szkwarko Earn First-Place Finishes at Lafayette Indoor Track & Field Meet

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Tyler Jones' first-place finish in the shot put led the Leopard men, while Daria Szkwarko claimed the pole vault crown for the women as Kirby Sports Center hosted the Lafayette Indoor Track & Field Meet on Saturday, Dec. 4.

Jones and Michael DeGregorio had stellar showings in both throwing events. Along with his shot put win of 15.05 m, Jones was third in the weight with a throw of 15.08 m. DeGregorio was second in the weight (15.31 m) and third in the shot (14.14 m).

Stephen Ekema-Agbaw won the triple jump for Lafayette with a distance of 13.55 m.

Richard Jackson (1:05.63) was second in the 500 m and Brian Vail (1:59.30) placed second at the 880-yard distance.

Both Leopard 4x400 relay teams finished second as well.

Szkwarko's vault of 10' 4" won the women's pole vault, and Kristen Kalinowski recorded a height of 5' 3", good for second in the high jump, while Meghan Baker finished second at 880 yards to lead three Leopards in the event.

Taylor Robinson (pole vault), Alison Crowley (60-yd. hurdles), Lauren Phelps (440 yards) and Brittany Waldron (880 yards) all earned third-place finishes for Lafayette.
