Track and Field Competes at the Penn Relays

Philadelphia – The Lafayette track and field team sent six student-athletes to the Penn Relays in Philadelphia for the first day of competition on Thursday. The group competed against student-athletes from all over the country.

Elise Buffinton highlighted the group by taking third in the College Section of the pole vault with a jump of 11’ 11 ¾”. Rachel Pena continued her impressive spring with a fifth place finish in the Championship Section of the hammer throw (188’7”). The women’s 4 x 400 meter relay consisting of Haley Langton, Drew Davis, Erin Keen and Devin Smith took third in their heat with a 3:54.33 mark.

Lafayette is back in action Friday and Saturday at the Penn Relays and at the Lehigh Games on Saturday.
