Track and Field Wraps Up Wake Forest Open

Lafayette completed the second day of the Wake Forest Open Saturday evening, the event had no team scoring.

Jarrel Bobb supplemented Friday’s triple jump performance on the track with a personal best 21.94 in the 200 meter dash topping his section en route to a top 15 finish. Tim Shaw nabbed seventh in the 400 meter hurdles when he crossed the line at 55.08.

On the women’s side, Elise Buffinton reserved her spot in the ECAC Championships’ pole vault with a 3.70 meter (12’ 1 ½”) flight, she would finish fourth overall. Mara Blanchard took fourth in the B section of the event reaching a height of 3.35 meters (10’ 11”). On the track, Devin Smith garnered top 15 finishes in the 100 meter dash, with a time of 12.44, and the 200 meter dash, with a time of 25.44. Haley Langton set a new personal best in the 400 meter dash, crossing the line at 57.76. Her 25.90 finish in the 200 meter dash was also a personal best.

The Maroon and White host a 7-way meet March 29 in Easton.
