Rudolph Leads Lafayette at IC4A Championships

Boston, Mass. - The Lafayette men's track and field team was represented at the IC4A Championships on Saturday while Joelle Neilson represented the women's squad at the ECAC Championships at Reggie Lewis Track.
Senior sprinter Jerome Rudolph placed sixth in the 60m dash with a time of 6.87 seconds. His effort also earned him a spot in the semifinals on Sunday.
The Leopards 4 X 800m relay team of Chris Pregler, Matt Piazza, Dayne Mosconi and Derrick Hargwood earned the second-best time in school history as they combined to finish in 7:39.12.
Nick DeRosa placed 17th in the preliminaries of the 200m dash finishing with a time of 21.75 seconds. DeRosa's time is the fastest of his career. Nick Hepp (22.08) and Rudolph (22.13) also competed in the event finishing 29th and 32nd, respectively.
Chris Parker finished 14th in the preliminaries of the men's 800m dash with a time of 1:52.33. The time is a new personal best for Parker.
The 4 X 400m team of Hepp, Bill Leonard, Ryan McVeigh and DeRosa finished sixth in its heat, posting a time of 3:19.80.
Senior Nick Henderson placed 13th in the pole vault with his leap of 15' 9''.
Neilson took tenth in the women's long jump with her leap of 18' 6''.
In addition to Rudolph, Sunday's competitors include Neilson in the triple jump, Elise Buffinton in the pole vault, Gwen Steckel and Rachel Pena in the weight throw and William Volkmann in the 5,000m run.
