Lafayette Finishes First Day of the Patriot League Championships

Junior Stephanie Hazlett started the Leopards weekend on a high note during the first day of the Indoor Patriot League Championships held at Navy.
Hazlett set a personal best of 3,074 points in the women's five event pentathlon and finished fifth for the Leopards. It was personal best by almost 200 points and moved her to seventh all-time at Lafayette. Junior Ariann Davis from Navy was the winner for the event with 3,272 points.
On the men's side, sophomore Nick Carboni completed the first day of the two-day men's heptathlon in ninth place with 2,286 points. Carboni set a season's bests in the 60m dash and the long jump. He also completed the shot put and high jump to round out the opening day. Carboni will begin day two with the 60m hurdles, pole vault and the 1000m.
Day-two action begins with the men's heptathlon. There will be finals in the men's and women's long jump, 20lb and 35lb weight throws, high jump, 5000m and the 4 x 800m Relays. Trials will be running in the 60m dash, 60m hurdles and the 200m.
