Lafayette Results

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Competitors from the Lafayette men's and women's track and field team took part in New Balance Invitational at the Armory in Saturday. William Volkmann's effort in the 5,000 meter run highlighted the event for Lafayette.

Volkmann took eighth in the race with his time of 14:46.21, but qualified for the IC4A Championships and now sits in second all-time at Lafayette. His time was also a new personal best. Josh Sadlock also ran in the 5k, placing 21^st overall with a time of 15:11.83.

The men's 4x400 meter dash relay placed third in the Pennsylvania heat, combining for a time of 3:19.80. Nick Hepp, Ryan McVeigh, Bill Leonard and Nick DeRosa made up the foursome.

Representing the women's team in the 5,000 meter run was Lauren Kelley, crossing the line in 17:56.01, good for 21^st overall.

Lafayette also had three runners in the 400 meter dash, led by Adedayo Adu in 59^th position. Adu clocked in at 59.04 and was followed by Megan Matusky (75^th, 59.99) and Chelsea Marone (79^th, 1:00.41.

Lafayette next meet is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 10, when the Leopards' host the Lafayette/Rider Invitational at the Armory in New York, N.Y.
