EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette men’s and women’s track and field teams finished up their busy weekend on Saturday, competing in both the Bison Open and the Covert Classic.
Hubeny finished first in the men’s 60m dash with a time of 7.38 and second in the long jump with a distance of 6.30m. Those two results helped cap a well-rounded performance helped the sophomore win the men’s heptathlon, finishing with a final score of 4584, which placed him fourth on the all-time leaderboard.
Cutrone placed third in the heptathlon, finishing with 4526 points. The senior placed first in the pole vault, reaching 4.20m. Cutrone also grabbed second in the shot put with a throw of 11.40m.
On the women’s side, Katie Ullmann earned a top-ten finish in the pentathlon, finishing in ninth with an overall score of 2497. The freshman finished second in the shot put with a throw of 9.86m.
The Leopards earned multiple top-ten finishes on Saturday at the Covert Classic hosted by Lehigh.
Senior Dave McGriff continued his winning ways, taking the top spot in the weight throw with a throw of 17.71m. Calvin Schneck placed second in the 1000m, crossing the finish line in 2:33.77. Michael Thorne kept up the pace of the top-three finishes, grabbing third in the pole vault reaching 4.40m.

Katie Mozzozhi and Sophia Gardinier both earned top ten finishes on the women’s side, as Mozzochi finished eighth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.40. Gardinier grabbed eighth in the 400m, crossing the finish line in 1:02.84.
Katherine Millar earned a top-five finish in the 3000m, as her time of 11:00.03 was good for third place. Olivia Barney set a new personal best in the weight throw, hitting a distance of 13.80m, which was good for tenth place.
The Leopards return to action next Saturday when they travel to Staten Island to take part in the Villanova inviter
