The 2015-16 season is Joseph Brown's second as an assistant coach at Lafayette. Brown assists with all aspects of the track & field program, specializing in the sprints and jumps. He comes to College hill after serving as an assistant coach at Frostburg State University in Frostburg, Md.
At Frostburg, Brown coached eight Eastern Capital Athletic Conference (ECAC) qualifiers in indoors and 10 ECAC qualifiers in outdoor during the 2013-14 season. He also coached All-Indoor Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) athletes in the women's long and triple jumps, and an Outdoor CAC Champion in the long jump.
Prior to his time at Frostburg, Brown was an assistant coach at Amherst High School. At Amherst, he coached state champions in the 4x400 meter relay, as well as multiple regional champions in the 4x400, high jump, long jump and triple jump. Brown holds USATF level 1 Track and Field coaching certifications and USATF Level 2 coaching certifications for jumps, while also holding an NCAA Recruiting Certification.
Brown graduated from Lees-McRae College with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Management and also received his masters in Sport Management from Liberty University. During his time at Lees-McRae he was a member of the track team and also a team captain his senior year. Brown was an all-conference and all-region selection in the 110m hurdles from 2008-10, while his team earned Conference Carolina Champion laurels all three of those seasons.
