Brad Lawrence is in his second season as an assistant coach for Lafayette’s track & field program, working primarily with the combined athletes and the pole vaulters.
A former pole vaulter for a nationally-competitive Penn State program, Lawrence began his coaching career assisting with summer camps for the Nittany Lions.
After undergrad, he joined American International College in Springfield, Mass., as an assistant track & field coach in the fall of 2010, specializing in long/triple jump, sprints and pole vault. Lawrence remained with the Yellow Jackets through May 2013, and he additionally served as a pole vault coach at Williams College during the final year of his stint in Massachusetts.
Lawrence graduated from Penn State in 2010 with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, and he received his master’s in advanced level coaching from Springfield College in 2012. In addition to his track & field background, Lawrence also has Level 100 and 200 coaching certification from USA Rugby. He served as the head coach of Springfield’s rugby program from January 2011 – May 2012, and he assisted on the staff of Penn State’s 2010 national championship-winning women’s rugby squad.Lawrence currently resides in Easton.
