EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's swimming and diving team placed 15 student-athletes to its Patriot League Academic Honor Roll list on Tuesday afternoon.

Senior Jaryd Freedman, the male recipient of the Maroon Club Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award, was one of three members of the squad to register a perfect 4.0 grade-point average (GPA). Sophomore computer science major Jonathan Jenkins and freshman biology major Stephen Gadowski also notched a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Freedman was joined by three senior classmates on the list in Matthew Harhen, Brian Wolz and JB Worster.

In addition to the four members of the class of 2008, one junior, six sophomores and four freshmen also found their names on the list. Head coach Jim Dailey's squad was the highest men's team-GPA on campus, and second only to the women's swimming and diving team.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 GPA in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's 16 winter or spring championship sports. The criteria for awarding varsity letters are different at each institution.
