March 3, 2014

EASTON, Pa. – Senior freestyler Lauren Berry and sophomore breaststroker Greg Grewal have been tabbed to the Academic All-League Team as announced by the Patriot League on Monday.

Berry sits in the top 10 all-time in five different events, including a piece of the school record in the 800-yard freestyle relay set this season. The 2013-14 team captain maintains a 3.96 GPA while majoring in Psychology with a minor in Art.

The Haverford, Pa. native has achieved Dean’s List status in every semester en route to the Gold Level of the Athletic Department’s Academic Honor Roll in each semester. Her performance in the water has earned her a spot CSCAA Academic All-American Team in all possible semesters. Away from the pool, she is the Executive Chair of First-Year Orientation and President of the Psychology and Greek National Honor Societies while serving Director of Campus Activities and Vice President of Marketing for the Alpha Phi Sorority.

Grewal maintains a 3.43 GPA while majoring in Chemical Engineering. The All-Patriot League Second-Team selection had a stellar performance over championship weekend. He toppled 1992 Olympian Andrew Rutherfurd’s school record in the 200-yard breaststroke and nearly broke Rutherford’s 100-yard breaststroke record. He became Lafayette’s first NCAA qualifier since 1992 when he surpassed the B cut standard in the 100-yard breaststroke. He is part of school records in the 400-yard medley relay and the 200-yard medley relay.
