Women's Team Goes 1-2 at Bucknell Quad-Meet

EASTON, Pa. - Senior Leah Goldberg led the Leopards in the one and three meter dives at a quad-meet hosted by Bucknell Saturday afternoon.. She took first place in the three meter with 233.10 points and racked up 222.50 points for a third place finish in the one meter.

Also on the women's side, the 200-yard medley relay took fourth place with a time of 1:52.92. The team consisted of Alexandria Brannick, Stephanie Zielinski, Sarah Savattieri and Lauren Berry.

Freshman Kate Durkan touched the wall at 1:58.60 in the 200-yard freestyle for a fifth place finish while in the 100-yard backstroke Brannick placed fourth with a time of 1:00.38.

In the 100-yard freestyle, Berry and Durkan took ninth and 10th with times of 55.35 and 55.70, respectively.

Senior Maricate Conlon posted a time of 2:12.39 for a sixth place finish for the Leopards in the 200-yard backstroke. She was followed by Brannick at 2:14.31 and Abby Floyd-Jones at 2:15.21. Conlon also placed sixth in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:18.04.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kelsey Theriault, Brannick, Durkan and Berry took a second place finish with a time of 1:41.64. The team of Floyd-Jones, Conlon, Julia Harris and Tori Bonisese placed fourth, touching at 1:45.38.



On the men's side, Stephen McCormick posted a time of 10:13.15 in the 1000-yard freestyle for a sixth place finish.

Junior Cory Schutz placed fourth in the 100/200-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.93 and 2:12.00 while classmate Michael Black also took fourth in the 100-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 47.66.

The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Sacha Broccard, McCormick, Black and Brendan Lawson picked up a third place finish, clocking in at 1:28.43.

Sophomore diver Todd Leone placed sixth in the one-meter with 238.60 points and fifth in the three-meter with 233.40 points.

The Lafayette women's team went 1-2 on the day while the men's team went 0-3 against Bucknell, Navy and American.

Lafayette will welcome rival Lehigh on Friday with a 6 p.m. start time.
