Ross, Coldren Qualify for Patriot League Finals

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Brian Ross and Issaiah Coldren both qualified for the conference finals on the last day of the Patriot League Swimming and Diving championships at Bucknell's Kinney Natatorium.

Ross swam a time of 1:54.45 to place 14th in the 200-yard back while Issaiah Coldren left his mark in the three-meter diving competition, placing 16th with a score of 131.05.

Lafayette head coach Jim Dailey pointed to the performance of the 400 free relay teams. The Leopard men's team of Sam Haines (46.42), Xavier Laracuente (46.54), James Grieb (46.92) and Kyle Doherty (46.70) placed seventh in 3:06.58. The women's team of Julia Hall (53.53), Faye Melekos (53.89), Anne Marie Mozrall (53.39) and Maureen McShane (53.88) finished in ninth place in 3:34.69.

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Weston Lickfeld finished just out of the finals, touching the wall in in 2:07.53 for 17th place. Haines also finished in the top 20 individually in the 200 butterfly in 1:55.71.

Navy won the Patriot League team title on both sides of the competition, while the Lafayette men and women finished in 10th place.
