Day Two Sees 400 Medley Relay Teams Place in Top 10
ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Leopard swimming and diving teams were back in action on Thursday, the second day of the Patriot League Championships at Navy.
In the morning preliminaries, freshman Tanner McFarland placed 28th in 4:44.25. That equaled Grieb's finish in the 200 IM in 1:55.41. Kyle Doherty had the top overall place of the morning time trials, taking 26th in the 50 free in 21.60.
"It was a great job by our swimmers today, responding and getting themselves back into the meet," said Lafayette head coach Jim Dailey. "We had several best times and most of the events the swimmers/divers competed in were secondary events."
Several performances moved Leopard swimmers into the school's all-time top 10: Mozrall 10th in the 100 free in 53.04, Melekos third in the 100 fly in 56.97, Buckley third in the 100 breast in 1:06.07 and Grieb 4th in the 100 breast in 56.70
Through 14 events in the Patriot League Championships, the Lafayette men sit ninth, just five points out of eighth place while the Leopard women are 10th.
