Lafayette Swept by Rider

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Lafayette men's and women's swimming and diving team closed out the regular season at Rider where the men fell to the Broncs by a slim margin, 108-106, while the women lost 58-48.
The Leopards took the top spot in 10 events at the rescheduled meet. Dana Purdy posted a time of 1:07.10 in the 100-yard backstroke to give Lafayette its first win of the day. Michael Black and Stephen McCormick placed first in the 100-yard backstroke and 500-yard freestyle.
The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Kelsey Theriault, Julia Harris, Alex Brannick and Lauren Berry won their event with a time of 1:42.71. The men's relay team of James Kugal, Brendan Lawson, Black and McCormick clocked in at 1:27.84 for their first-place finish.
Lafayette will now take the time to prepare for Patriot League Championships, beginning Feb. 17 in Annapolis, Md.
