Leopards Anxious To Get Back Into Action
Oct. 17, 2006
EASTON, Pa.- (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette College fencing team returns to action this weekend when this year's squad will take on an assembled alumni team. The meet will take place in Kamine Gym beginning at 9 a.m., just a few hours before the Lafayette football team takes on Holy Cross at Fisher Stadium. A luncheon for current and returning fencers will follow the meet. The entire weekend on College Hill revolves around Homecoming festivities.
This year members of the Family YMCA of Easton, Phillipsburg and Vicinity Fencing Club will take part in the meet, making sure the entire event runs according to plan.
Head Coach Adam Richter, whose squad has had official workouts since the middle of September, is excited to see what his team can do in competition and keep the Lafayette tradition alive.
"I think the alumni meet is a great opportunity to connect today's fencers with those who came before them," Richter said. "It's also a chance to show our gratitude to the alumni who consistently give us so much support."
