Fencing Splits With Drew at Kamine Gymnasium

EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette fencing team hosted Drew University on Saturday in Kamine Gymnasium. The women's team was triumphant, 22-5, with the men were downed, 19-8 by the visiting Rangers. With the split, the Leopards move to 20-12 on the season. The women's foilists led the effort with a 9-0 performance. Lisa DeJoseph, Alexandra Knobel and Jane Liu all contributed 3-0 records to the sweep the school. Caitlin Altomare also had a flawless day in three épée bouts, while Bridget Greeley and Jillian Rosamilia were both 3-0 in sabre. Épéeist Colleen Way also posted a winning record at 2-1 and Leah Hayden won one bout in sabre to aid the 22-5 victory for the women. On the men's side, Lafayette's strongest school was épée. Everett Glenn and Andre Rafizadeh were both 2-1 to fuel a 5-4 record. Noah Weiner also added a win in the épée. Phillip Manna carded the Leopards' lone win in foil, and Connor McNamara posted a 2-1 tally in sabre. The fencing team returns to the strip on Sunday, March 4 at MACFA Championships in Jersey City, N.J.
