Fencing Takes Ninth at MACFA Championships

The Lafayette fencing team wrapped up its 2009 season by hosting the 2009 Middle Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association (MACFA) Championship on Sunday. The Leopards placed ninth out of 17 teams and head coach Tom Gauntner was named the 2009 MACFA Coach of the Year.

Leopards Post Three Wins at NJIT Fencing Invitational

The Lafayette fencing team finished with three victories at the NJIT Invitational on Feb. 8. The Leopards defeated Yeshiva, Stony Brook and host NJIT to finish the regular season with a 9-8 record, the squad's first winning record since the 1992-93 season.

Four Fencers Compete at Temple Open

Four Lafayette fencers traveled to Philadelphia this past weekend to compete in the Temple Open. Freshman Stephen Alexis placed ninth out of 94 men's foil fencers, the highest finish by a Leopard.
