Lafayette College Sports Medicine is home to both student employees and clinical students from affiliated programs.


Lafayette Student Work Study Program

Currently, our work study program employs a roster of 20+ Lafayette students. We are always looking for good candidates to join our staff. If you are interested, regardless of Federal Work Study / College Work Study status, please click the link below and complete the application. Applications can be submitted to Jon Edwards, Assistant Athletic Trainer, at, or can be dropped off inside Sports Medicine, 127 Kirby Sports Center. Applications are accepted year-round, however, periods of interviews and hiring typically occur in August or May. Lifeguards, students with EMT certification, and those interesting in healthcare professions, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Expectations include:

Assist with practice and game coverage (including set-up, preventative taping and bracing, clean-up from practice).

Maintain cleanliness of Kirby, Bourger and Metzgar athletic training facilities

Assist with the inventory of both athletic training facilities.

Assist with the data entry / filing systems of injury tracking programs.

Maintain healthcare privacy and confidentiality.



Our sports medicine staff acts as preceptors/approved clinical instructors for multiple universities with both, undergraduate and graduate level, athletic training curricula. As a staff, we expect those students assigned to Lafayette to uphold the standards set forth by their own institution, in addition to meeting the standards set by Lafayette, while achieving educational goals.
