Lafayette's commitment to sports medicine and overall health of its student-athletes is evidenced by the state-of-the-art, cutting edge athletic training facility within the Allen P. Kirby Sports Center. The 2500 square foot facility incorporates a physician exam room with office space for staff athletic trainers, a taping/preparatory area, an advanced primary therapy area, a hydrotherapy center with a seven-foot deep aquatic rehabilitation pool with a variable depth floor, and an orthotic fabrication lab where corrective orthotics can be custom-designed and fabricated in-house.
Bourger Varsity Football House
Opened in 2006, Bourger Athletic Training Room is a facility with all the necessary equipment to make sure Sports Medicine can provide the best care for its athletes. Bourger houses a taping/preparatory area; cold tub and hot tub with an underwater treadmill; a traction table to aid in back therapy; and an x-ray machine for instant injury evaluation.
Kamine Field House Training Room (Metzgar Fields)
To help accommodate the athletes that participate in outdoor sports at our off campus fields we have a third Athletic Training Room. This athletic training room serves as a taping and preparatory area for the athletes. It is also used post practice for the cold whirlpool, icing, stretching, etc.
